About the Speakers

Lisa L. Jones

Director of Silver and Decorative Arts, USPAP Generalist Appraiser, Certified Member AAA

Lisa graduated from Baylor University in 1990 with a BA in French and Art History. Lisa has been working in the auction market for over 15 years. Currently, her responsibilities include representing Alex Cooper in the Washington, DC area, generating and securing new business, researching, cataloguing and participating in the auctions. Lisa is also a Generalist Appraiser, with broad knowledge across several areas of fine and decorative art, including historic costume and fashion. She regularly writes appraisals for estate purposes, insurance replacement value and equitable distribution.

Selden Morgan
Director of Fine Jewelry 

Selden n is a Baltimore native and graduate of Garrison Forest School in 1990. After high school she attended Marietta College, Marietta, Ohio, majoring in History with a minor in Art, specializing in jewelry manufacturing. After college Selden moved to Washington, DC to start her career in retail jewelry.  After three years in Washington DC she decided to continue her studies in gemology and jewelry and attended The Gemological Institute of America in Carlsbad, CA. in 1997 she received a Graduate Jeweler Gemologist Degree as well as a Jewelry Appraisal Certification. Since then Selden has been working in luxury jewelry in Baltimore and currently Director of Fine Jewelry at Alex Cooper where she specializes in meeting with clients and evaluating their family heirlooms for auction. 

Kathleen Hamill
Director of Modern & Contemporary Art

Kathleen Hamill earned a BA Degree in Art History from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee, and continued her studies in a BFA in the Applied Arts at the American College of Art in Atlanta, Georgia.  Following positions in the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago, the Contemporary Museum in Baltimore, and in private galleries, she founded K. Hamill Fine Art which focused on promoting and selling the work of Baltimore artists.  In 2017 she began working at Alex Cooper Auctioneers as the Director of Modern & Contemporary Art and is charged with expanding the offerings and reach of the Fine Arts Department.
