NACGP Government Relations Committee Chair Bob Shafis will present on the IRA Legacy Act, a significant expansion in IRA giving opportunities.

The IRA Legacy Act allows donors to draw upon their IRA to create charitable gift annuities. Bob will explain the substance of the new law and advise gift planners on how to communicate it to donors. In addition, he will discuss 2 other projects that the Government Relations Committee has been working on. First, an update on CGP’s RIFT (Release IRA Funds Timely) Project, a database of materials to assist charitable organizations to effectively file and timely receive IRA beneficiary distributions. Bob will also talk about the committee’s recommendations to the IRS about changes in Form 990.
